A study investigated the impact of olaparib treatment on progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) in patients with high-grade epithelial ovarian cancer. Tumor BRCA-like status was assessed using a genomic profile classifier. Among 469 patients, those with a BRCA-like tumour experienced significantly longer PFS with olaparib plus bevacizumab compared to placebo plus bevacizumab (36.4 vs 18.6 months). This finding suggests the potential utility of the BRCA-like classifier in identifying patients who may benefit from olaparib maintenance treatment. The study highlights the importance of biomarker-driven approaches in optimizing ovarian cancer therapy.
