A study analyzed risk factors for isoniazid-resistant and rifampicin-susceptible tuberculosis (Hr-TB) in 1,844 adult inpatients with pulmonary tuberculosis. Among 166 Hr-TB patients, diabetes mellitus (DM) (OR 1.472) and prior TB treatment (OR 2.913) were identified as significant risk factors, especially in males. In the newly treated subgroup (1,640 patients), DM (OR 1.662) remained a risk factor. Conclusively, DM poses a notable risk for Hr-TB in adults, notably in males and newly treated individuals, while a history of TB treatment also elevates the risk.
