Study Reveals Trends in Prescription Patterns for Combination Therapy in Heart Failure Patients

A recent study examined the evolution of prescription patterns for combination therapy in heart failure (HF) patients, analyzing pharmacological groups and differences across HF subgroups. Conducted retrospectively on 602 patients admitted for cardiac decompensation, the study found an overall increase in drug prescriptions across all groups. Specifically, there was a significant rise in prescriptions for SGLT2i drugs and quadruple therapy. Patients with de novo HF and previous heart disease had the highest combined prescription rates. These findings highlight trends in HF treatment and subgroup optimization.
