
A recent study explores the impact of vitamin D supplementation on Tuberculosis spondylitis patients. Constituting half of the skeletal tuberculosis cases, this condition prompted an investigation into vitamin D's role in immune function, particularly in activating TLR-2 and TLR-4, integral to tuberculosis infection. Employing a true Experiment Design Pretest–Posttest with Control Group, results demonstrated significant elevation in vitamin D, TLR-2, and TLR-4 levels with 10,000 IU and 5000 IU doses at weeks 4 and 8. The control group exhibited no notable increase. Conclusively, vitamin D supplementation, notably at 10,000 IU/day for 8 weeks, proves effective in enhancing immunomodulation.
