A recent study examined the standardization of en-bloc extended pelvic lymphadenectomy (ePLND) techniques, namely antegrade and retrograde, in robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) for prostate cancer treatment. Conducted between January 2018 and September 2019, the study included 105 patients operated by a single surgeon. Results showed that both techniques yielded comparable surgical and oncological outcomes. Notably, the antegrade approach was perceived as safer due to the early identification of key anatomical landmarks. The study underscores the significance of standardizing ePLND procedures for enhanced prostate cancer staging accuracy.
