The study evaluated the 5-year outcomes of high-risk NMIBC patients who underwent 12 instillations of induction BCG without maintenance. Between November 2015 and June 2018, 81 patients were enrolled at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. The analysis, conducted on July 28, 2023, showed a 5-year recurrence-free survival rate of 69% and a cancer-specific survival rate of 97%. The use of two induction courses reduced the required BCG vials per patient from 27 to 12, providing a potential alternative in the current BCG shortage.
