In a study of 556 invasive breast cancer patients, researchers used tumour-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) scores to predict histological grade accurately. Patients were divided into low and high-risk groups based on traditional grading methods and TIL scores. TILs-score emerged as a significant independent predictor of histological grade. Notably, reclassifying Grade 2 (G2) status using TILs-score revealed distinct risk profiles, with G2/High-risk patients exhibiting poorer survival rates than Grade 3 (G3) patients. These findings suggest the potential for TILs-score to guide therapeutic decisions in breast cancer management.
