Individuals with diabetes are at high risk of cardiovascular diseases, often remaining asymptomatic. The study aimed to compare left ventricular dysfunction in asymptomatic type 2 diabetic adults versus non-diabetic controls. Echocardiography revealed higher dysfunction prevalence in diabetics. Factors like age, dyslipidemia, and medication use correlated with dysfunction presence. Early screening, especially in the elderly and those with kidney disease or neuropathy, is recommended to detect subclinical dysfunction.
