Systemic Immune-Inflammation Index as a Predictor of Atrioventricular Block in STEMI Patients Undergoing Primary PCI

The study investigates the association between the systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) and the development of complete atrioventricular block (CAVB) in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Retrospective analysis of 883 patients reveals that higher SII levels on admission are significantly correlated with increased risk of CAVB. The study suggests that SII could serve as a cost-effective and readily available marker for identifying STEMI patients at a higher risk of CAVB during PCI.
