The 90‐day cause‐specific mortality after radical prostatectomy: a nationwide population‐based study

We aimed to investigate the cause‐specific mortality in the postoperative period after radical prostatectomy (RP) for prostate cancer (PCa). In the National Prostate Cancer Register of Sweden , we identified all men who died within 90 days after RP performed 1998-2018 and we assessed cause of death in a chart review. We compared the adjudications of death from our medical record review with those in in the Swedish Cause of Death Registry. Cardiovascular diseases were the most common causes of death after RP.
