This prospective cohort study aimed to assess and compare anxiety levels in patients undergoing mandibular third molar extractions, specifically those who viewed videos related to the procedure and those who did not. The study included 60 patients without systemic comorbidities. State anxiety (S-anxiety) and trait anxiety (T-anxiety) scores were measured one week before and on the day of surgery. Results indicated that S-anxiety scores were higher on the surgery day for both groups, and group 1 (patients who watched videos) had statistically higher S-anxiety scores than group 2. There was no significant difference in T-anxiety scores between the two groups.
