The study evaluated the use of a temperature-controlled radiofrequency (TCRF) device to treat septal swell body (SSB) hypertrophy, which is a common contributor to nasal airway obstruction (NAO). The primary endpoint was the improvement in Nasal Obstruction Symptom Evaluation (NOSE) scale scores from baseline to 3 months post-procedure. The study found that TCRF treatment of SSB hypertrophy is well-tolerated and effective at reducing both SSB size and symptoms of NAO at 3 months post-treatment.
