The impact of acute SARS‐CoV‐2 on testicular function including insulin‐like factor 3 [INSL3] in men with mild COVID‐19: A longitudinal study

A recent study examined the effects of mild COVID-19 on testicular function in non-hospitalized men. The study revealed that acute SARS-CoV-2 infection resulted in lower testosterone levels and higher LH concentrations, reducing testicular function. Additionally, INSL3 levels were lower during the infection but increased at the three-month follow-up. The total number of motile spermatozoa was also lower during the infection but improved at the six-month follow-up. Interestingly, no SARS-CoV-2 RNA was found in the semen samples collected throughout the study.
