The influence of radical trachelectomy on endometrial thickness in in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer

The study investigated the impact of radical trachelectomy (RT), a fertility-preserving surgery for early-stage cervical cancer, on endometrial thickness during in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET). It included 44 patients who underwent RT and 23 undergoing IVF-ET. Results showed higher cancellation rates in the RT group compared to the control group. Factors such as age, abortion history, uterine artery preservation, and postoperative chemotherapy did not affect endometrial thinning. The study suggested that RT influences endometrial thickness in IVF-ET, potentially linked to transient postoperative uterine blood flow and infections.
