The Power of Patient Input: Why Incorporating Patient Perspectives Is Key in Chronic Rhinosinusitis Management

The study examined the influence of patient-reported control of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) on how rhinologists assess CRS control. Fifteen rhinologists assessed the control of CRS in 200 patients using 7 CRS manifestations and patient-reported CRS control. The results showed that patient-reported CRS control had a significant impact on rhinologists' assessment of CRS control, and knowledge of patient-reported CRS control better aligned rhinologists' assessments with patients' perspectives. The study highlights the importance of incorporating patient-reported outcomes in the assessment and treatment of CRS.
