The prevalence of autism among children with albinism

The study revealed a higher prevalence of autism in children with albinism compared to those with other causes of visual impairment. Over five years, a study found that among 708 children with visual impairment, 14 of those diagnosed with albinism also had ASD. In contrast, only 3 children out of 307 in the control group, with visual impairment from other causes, had ASD. This calls for increased awareness and early diagnosis to better support these children.
