The prevalence of glaucoma in a 70‐year‐old Swedish population in the city area of Gothenburg

A recent study determines the prevalence and risk factors of open-angle glaucoma among 70-year-olds. The study revealed a glaucoma prevalence of 4.8%, with 56% of cases being previously undiagnosed. Factors such as higher intraocular pressure (IOP) and a family history of glaucoma were associated with increased disease risk. However, best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) did not significantly differ between those with and without glaucoma in their best eye.
