The prevalence of menstrual disorders and their association with psychological stress in students

A cross-sectional study involving 980 female students from health science faculties revealed a high prevalence of dysmenorrhea (88%) and premenstrual syndrome (87%). Additionally, 82% reported mild to moderate stress, with medium to high stress associated with an increased risk of premenstrual syndrome. The study emphasizes the importance of early detection and intervention for stress and menstrual disorders in university settings.
