Pregnancy is a critical period that can affect the health of both the mother and the fetus. Maternal immunization with vaccines has been explored as a way to improve the immune system and overall health of both the mother and the neonate. This review examines the protective role of maternal immunization, particularly with genetic vaccines, during pregnancy. The study found that inactivated or killed vaccines provided significant immune protection for both the mother and the fetus. Genetic vaccines, such as mRNA and DNA vaccines, were also found to be effective in triggering immune responses without adverse pregnancy outcomes. However, factors like maternal redox balance, nutritional status, and timing of immunization are important considerations for the well-being of the mother and the newborn
