A study on long-term care (LTC) for residents aged 65 and above reveals gaps in evidence-based care. Analyzing 27,585 care encounters across 25 LTC facilities, the study found an overall adherence rate of 53.2% to evidence-based care indicators. However, skin integrity, end-of-life care, infection, sleep, medication, and depression showed less than 50% adherence. This highlights the need for targeted improvement efforts to address the significant gaps in care for vulnerable older individuals, both physically and mentally.
