In a real-world observational study (TROPHIES) involving type 2 diabetes patients in France, Germany, and Italy, the study compared the outcomes of two popular injectable glucose-lowering medications, dulaglutide and liraglutide. The results showed that dulaglutide-initiating patients had a longer period without significant treatment changes compared to those starting on liraglutide. They were also more persistent with their treatment. In detail, 28.2% of patients in the dulaglutide group and 45.2% in the liraglutide group experienced significant treatment changes. Dulaglutide demonstrated a lower likelihood of treatment change (HR 0.54) and higher treatment persistence (HR 0.69) compared to liraglutide.
