The study aimed to assess the value of lung ultrasound (LUS) in quantifying the degree of lung involvement and in the discrimination of lesion types in the course of COVID-19 pneumonia as compared to high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) analyzed by artificial intelligence (AI). The study found that LUS can accurately evaluate the extent of COVID-19 pneumonia and estimate its clinical severity. The study suggests that further evaluation of LUS in the assessment of the structure of inflammation is required.
