Thoracic Ultrasound Score vs. Lung Ultrasound Score in Preterm Neonates

The study evaluates the thoracic ultrasound score (TUS) for predicting surfactant needs in preterm neonates, compared to the lung ultrasound score (LUS). While both scores showed similar associations with oxygenation, TUS outperformed LUS in neonates with gestational age (GA) ≥ 34 weeks. TUS demonstrated superior diagnostic accuracy, making it a promising alternative for assessing surfactant requirements in this population.
