The present study aimed to assess the effectiveness of performing an abdominal aortic balloon block before or after fetal birth in reducing intraoperative bleeding and the risk of severe bleeding in patients with placenta accreta spectrum (PAS). The study included 168 patients who underwent balloon occlusion, with 62 receiving pre-delivery inflation and 106 receiving post-delivery inflation. The overall probability of major bleeding was 56.5%, with no statistically significant difference observed between pre- and post-delivery inflation groups. The study concluded that pre-delivery inflation did not significantly reduce the risk or amount of severe bleeding in PAS patients.
