A Brazilian study compared toluidine blue 1% eye drops and OCT for determining tumour margins in ocular surface squamous neoplasia (OSSN). Conducted at the Federal University of São Paulo, the study included 21 participants. Results showed no significant difference in measurements between the two methods, with a qualitative agreement highlighted in the Bland-Altman analysis. The study suggested toluidine blue 1% as a viable alternative for accurate tumour measurement, particularly in low-resource settings where OCT may not be available, impacting OSSN treatment planning positively.
