Transversus abdominis plane block improves postoperative recovery following cesarean delivery under general anesthesia: A propensity score matched retrospective cohort study

The study was conducted on 173 women who underwent cesarean delivery under general anesthesia. Half received Transversus Abdominis Plane (TAP) blocks alongside intravenous analgesia, while the other half only received intravenous analgesia. Results revealed the TAP group had significantly higher Quality of Recovery 15 (QoR-15) scores at 24 hours post-surgery, improved early ambulation, faster recovery of intestinal function, and lower pain scores.
