A recent clinical trial compares the effectiveness of MTA Angelus and Total Fill BC as pulpotomy agents in mature teeth with deep caries and symptoms of irreversible pulpitis. After a median follow-up of two years, both materials showed similar and favourable outcomes. The failure rates for MTA Angelus and Total Fill BC were 10.8% and 17.5%, respectively, but the difference was not statistically significant. However, Total Fill BC was associated with higher levels of postoperative pain. The study highlights potential options for effective pulpotomy treatment in such cases.
