In this 8-week study involving 53 Chinese patients with moderate-to-severe melasma, a generic triple combination cream (TCC) and the branded formulation TRI-LUMA showed comparable efficacy (52.2% vs. 57.1%) and similar safety profiles. Adverse event rates did not differ significantly between groups, while no adverse events were reported in the placebo group. These results support using TCC as a cost-effective alternative in Chinese populations.
