The present study aimed to determine the diagnostic accuracy of two novel clinical tests for diagnosing hip labral tears. The study involved a cohort of 283 patients, and the clinical examination findings were obtained through a retrospective chart review. The study found that the Arlington test was more sensitive than the traditional FADIR/impingement test, while the twist test was more specific than the FADIR/impingement test in diagnosing hip labral tears in the hands of an experienced orthopedic surgeon. Accurate clinical examination is important in guiding advanced imaging and identifying patients who may benefit from surgical management.
