The study explored the relationship between TyG-BMI and hyperuricemia (HUA) in 2010 NAFLD patients. TyG-BMI levels were higher in the NAFLD-HUA group (252.45 ± 34.11 vs. 234.34 ± 31.88, P < 0.001) and positively correlated with serum uric acid (r = 0.309, P < 0.001). Logistic regression showed TyG-BMI was a risk factor for HUA (OR: 1.019, 95% CI: 1.012-1.027). TyG-BMI demonstrated better diagnostic accuracy (AUC: 0.656) compared to the TyG index (AUC: 0.605). Prospective studies are recommended.

Most recommendations remain conditional because evidence certainty is low or very low in several clinical areas.

A nationwide Colombian study identified 4,608 healthcare encounters related to childhood interstitial and diffuse lung disease (chILD) from 2016–2024. Average annual prevalence was 3.32 per 100,000 children, highest among infants and with a secondary rise during adolescence. Reported cases increased annually (IRR 1.022), while declining markedly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
