A study analyzing 4971 ICU patients with sepsis-associated acute kidney injury (SA-AKI) found a U-shaped relationship between the triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index and short-term mortality. Patients with a TyG index below 9.04 had lower 28-day and 90-day mortality risks, while higher values showed a nonsignificant increase. Findings suggest the TyG index as a potential prognostic marker in SA-AKI.
