
This study investigates the impact of transmit ultrasound frequency on global longitudinal strain (GLS) measured by 2D speckle tracking echocardiography (2DSTE). In 162 patients, apical views were obtained using three frequency presets. GLS values varied significantly among presets, with high-resolution frequency showing slightly smaller GLS magnitude compared to general and penetration modes. Despite these differences, GLS measurement remained reliable across ultrasound frequencies, suggesting that GLS assessment is generally robust and consistent, even with variations in ultrasound settings.
