
The study compares transcriptomic and immunohistochemical profiles of the locus coeruleus (LC) and substantia nigra (SN) from post-mortem human brains. Key differences in cholesterol homeostasis, antioxidant pathways, KRAS signaling, and estrogen signaling were found, offering insights into selective neurodegeneration in AD. These findings suggest new therapeutic targets for slowing AD progression.
