A study delves into the viability of ureteroscopic surgery (URS) as an alternative to radical nephroureterectomy (RNU) for managing upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC). Involving 143 UTUC patients, the research found comparable overall survival and renal function preservation with URS, especially for low-risk UTUC patients. These findings advocate for reconsidering existing guidelines and warrant further research on patient selection. URS emerges as a promising approach for UTUC treatment.
