This study compares pharyngocutaneous fistula (PCF) rates in patients undergoing total laryngectomy with and without cervical fascia flap reconstruction for Stage 3 and 4 squamous cell laryngeal cancer. Among 43 patients analyzed, PCF occurred significantly less in those with the flap (4.5%) compared to those without (33.3%). Factors like age, sex, and comorbidities did not differ between groups. The flap demonstrated a moderate negative correlation with PCF risk, highlighting its efficacy and practical benefits in reducing post-operative complications.
