USE OF INJECTABLE PLATELET-RICH FIBRIN FOLLOWING ARTHROCENTESIS FOR DISC DISPLACEMENT WITHOUT REDUCTION- ALLEVIATE PAIN

This study compared pain relief from TMJ arthrocentesis with adjunctive injections of platelet-rich fibrin (iPRF) or hyaluronic acid (HA) versus no injection (AO) in patients with disc displacement without reduction (DDwoR). In 88 female patients, both iPRF and HA significantly reduced pain at 1 and 6 months compared to AO. There was no significant difference between iPRF and HA in pain relief or maximum interincisal opening, suggesting both are effective options.
