The study aimed to evaluate the prognostic role of gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase to lymphocyte count ratio (GLR) in patients with oral cancer and develop a prognostic nomogram. The prospective cohort study included 1011 patients from Southeastern China with a median follow-up time of 3.5 years. The study found that high GLR could indicate a poor prognosis for patients with oral cancer. The GLR-based nomogram model performed better than the TNM stage in predicting prognosis. The study concludes that GLR may be a useful tool for predicting prognosis in patients with oral cancer.
