The JYNNEOS vaccine was approved for preventing mpox in 2019. A case-control study using electronic health record data was conducted to assess the vaccine's effectiveness. The study found that receiving two doses of the vaccine provided 66.0% effectiveness in preventing medically attended mpox, while one dose provided 35.8% effectiveness. The study concluded that the JYNNEOS vaccine was effective in preventing mpox, with better protection observed with a two-dose series.
