Vimek Bioconcept, a medical technology company based in India, has received approval from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) to distribute and sell their indigenous Treponema Pallidum haem-agglutination (TPHA) test kit for syphilis diagnosis within India. The TPHA test is known for its accuracy in diagnosing syphilis, a sexually transmitted infection caused by Treponema pallidum bacteria. The Made in India TPHA kit will be much more affordable than polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests, making it accessible for large-scale screening in blood banks, hospitals, and laboratories. The National Institute of Biologicals (NIB) rigorously tested and approved the kit with high specificity and sensitivity. The kit will be available from August and distributed through their channel partners across India.
