
The study evaluated how intensive visual procedural training affects sleep spindle organisation in 39 healthy adolescents and young adults (ages 16–20). Using high-density EEG over two nights, fast spindle density and clustering increased significantly after training, especially in task-relevant brain areas. No age-related differences were observed. These findings support a role for sleep spindles in visual memory consolidation and suggest reorganisation mechanisms similar to those seen in motor learning.
