The World Health Organization (WHO) have launched "The Big Catch-Up" campaign, which aims to vaccinate millions of children and restore vaccination progress lost during the COVID-19 pandemic. Childhood vaccination has declined in over 100 countries due to overburdened health services, closed clinics, and disrupted imports and exports of medical supplies. As a result, outbreaks of preventable diseases such as measles, diphtheria, polio, and yellow fever have intensified, with over 25 million children missing at least one vaccination in 2021 alone. The campaign will focus on 20 countries where three-quarters of children missed vaccinations in 2021.
