The ALPINE trial found that zanubrutinib, a Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor, was more effective than ibrutinib in treating relapsed or refractory chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) patients. The study showed a better overall response, progression-free survival, and adverse event profile compared to ibrutinib. Similar results were observed in the ELEVATE-RR trial, which compared acalabrutinib to ibrutinib, with acalabrutinib showing a better safety profile. However, comparing the two trials is challenging due to baseline and statistical differences.
